Yem Yem Technologies has the ability to provide EPCM solutions for Bulk Material Handling projects, including the full design, installation and commissioning of such projects. We have strategic alliances with international entities that are specialists in this field. We embrace the entire value chain which includes, Health and Safety, Environmental, Quality and Controlled Risk to meet budget and time successfully.

SOLAR

Yem Yem Technologies has the ability to provide revolutionary solar systems that are perfect for generating hot water for general use or for heating systems. We have partnered with Green Energy companies that are specialists in the development of Solar Thermo Dynamic systems that is highly energy efficient and robust.

SMART METERS (Water and Electricity)

Smart metering offers a number of potential benefits to householders. These include, an end to estimated bills, which are a major source of complaints for many customers, a tool to help consumers better manage their energy / water usage - stating that smart meters with a display outside their homes could provide up-to-date information on gas, electricity and water consumption and in doing so help people to manage their energy/water use and reduce their energy/water bills and carbon emissions.

Yem Yem Technologies provides state of the art Smart metering technology that provides, Multiple tariffs, Management reports, Meter event management, Energy balancing, Demand SID / Load control, Outage management reports, Remote disconnection/reconnection, Credit management from post to prepaid, System interface e.g. SAP, GIS, and other metering systems. It also boasts state of the art security features and system architecture.

GREEN BUILDING CONCEPTS

Green building concepts include:

Sandbag Housing – A quick, easy and cheap system of building houses using eco-friendly bags and sand from the building site, which has excellent thermal properties and can be built using unskilled labour. This system is perfect for rural areas and similar projects.

Mould-Cast Housing – This system involves pouring a special cement fibre mixture into a mould. The mould is removed after 24 hours and the house can then be completed with the various finishes. The same mould can be used repeatedly. This system is perfect for affordable housing solutions or similar large-scale projects.

Green Window and Door System – This green window/door system does not require the use of putty and is tamper-proof. The frame is made from Fibre Reinforced Plastic (FRP) composites. This material is used in a wide range of applications in construction because of the benefits they provide over traditional building materials. Primary benefits include reduced weight, requiring less supporting structure, and excellent resistance to corrosion and rot, which can significantly reduce the durability of structures built with wood and steel. Less maintenance and repairs mean reduced life cycle costs.

Lighter materials also facilitate handling during assembly, reducing installation costs as well as transportation costs. Composites also offer greater design freedom, enabling the creation of complex shapes. Polypropylene Carbonate (PPC) composites, a thermoplastic material used in the manufacture of riot-shields, are used in place of glass. It provides the visual appearance and benefits of glass but with the riot-shield strength of PPC composite material.

WASTE TO ENERGY

Yem Yem has strategically partnered with a company who has access to the latest international technology capable of turning any organic material into bio-diesel and/or electricity. The technology is able to process human waste (sewerage sludge), any coal waste (slimes, discard, dust, fines) and domestic refuse. The bio-diesel produced contains no sulphur and can be profitable sold at 50% of the present price of diesel.

AIR-TO-AIR heat pumps

A heat pump is a machine or device that moves heat from one location (the source) to another location (the ‘sink’ or ‘heat sink’) using mechanical work. Most heat pump technology moves heat from a low temperature heat source to a higher temperature heat sink. Common examples are food refrigerators and freezers, air conditioners, and reversible-cycle heat pumps for providing thermal comfort.

Heat pumps can be thought of as a heat engine that is operating in reverse. One common type of heat pump works by exploiting the physical properties of an evaporating and condensing fluid known as a refrigerant. In heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) applications, a heat pump normally refers to a vapour-compression refrigeration device that includes a reversing valve and optimized heat exchangers so that the direction of heat flow may be reversed.

Most commonly, heat pumps draw heat from the air or from the ground. This product is extremely inexpensive because it uses very little electricity, it also uses ambient heat, i.e. it does not need to create or search for heat, it draws the heat around it and uses that to expel the desired heating required.

LED LIGHTING

LED’s, or Light Emitting Diodes, are extremely efficient, longer lasting and have a lower operating cost than other conventional forms of lighting. LED’s consist of small capsules or lenses in which tiny chips are placed on heat-conducting material. LED’s measure from 3mm to 8mm long and can be used singly or as part of an array. The small size and low profile of LED’s allow them to be used in spaces that are too small for other conventional light bulbs.

LED’s give off light in a specific direction and are therefore more efficient in application than conventional light bulbs that waste energy by emitting light in all directions. Also, due to the fact that LED’s do not heat up like conventional lighting but instead remain cool, there are indirect cost savings such as air-conditioning costs. Eskom’s LED Lighting Rebate Program is currently reimbursing users up to 90% of the costs of switching to LED lighting.

ELECTRICAL

Electric Vehicle Charging Station:

With the advent of Electric Vehicles (EV’s) replacing the current Internal Combustion Engines (ICE) Vehicles both locally and globally, though with a slow penetration, it is a foregone conclusion that EV’s are the future given the environmental challenges and the green economy that the world is moving towards.  Consumer perceptions of EV’s and their preferences in considering EV choices is influenced by their ability to and trust that they will have access to a charging station and reliable power supply at all times.

One of the key considerations to go EV or not, is the availability of charging infrastructure at key and convenient locations, such as office parks, shopping malls, public amenities, national and provincial roads.  This has created a need for YemYem Technologies to evaluate the Charging Infrastructure market and rollout prospects. Charging infrastructure and battery technology in our view go hand in hand – the battery technology if fast improving and thus the time it takes to charge and the range one charge can cover.

At YemYem Technologies, we have positioned ourselves to be a provider of state of the art charging technology and ensure roll out to key strategic locations as we roll out.  We are developing both home and public AC charging infrastructure.  We are developing this technology in partnership with our EV manufacturing sister-company who are also at an advanced stage of the battery development technology

Battery Technology

In partnership with our sister-company, Hala Motors we are at advanced stages of research/design and commercialization of mass energy capacitors.  Our solid state battery technology is uniquely developed inhouse using abundantly available raw materials

It is our view and supported by testing that this technology is far better and outweighs the existing lithium-ion technology
